Stockport Council, in collaboration with UMIC, are launching a FREE Low Carbon Business Network

Stockport is already home to an estimated 5,000 employees working in the Low Carbon sector and supply chain. To help develop the sector even further Stockport Council, in collaboration with UMIC, are launching a FREE Low Carbon Business Network to support businesses working in the sector. The network will allow companies supplying Low Carbon goods and services to meet quarterly, collaborate with clients, suppliers or peers; access business support & funding; develop new ideas; access university knowledge; and commercialise ideas or products.

The launch event will allow you to network extensively with businesses and will also feature two insightful presentations:-

The North West Fund

Andy Leach, CEO of Northwest Business Finance Limited (NWBF)

Andy will be providing an overview of the opportunities with the £185m North West Fund - the largest fund of its kind in the UK. Financed by the European Regional Development Fund and the European Investment Bank, the fund provides debt and equity funding from £50,000-£2m to growing small and medium sized enterprises based in or relocating to The North West of England.
In addition, Mike Bakewell (CT Investment Partners) will be on hand to provide a brief overview of the North West Fund for Energy & Environmental. This fund represents a diverse range of products, services and processes including cleaner fuel production; electricity or heat generation or transportation; energy use in transport, industry and the built environment; water and waste water treatment; and recycling and waste management
