How the British Business Bank is changing the investment landscape

Event information

The government says it wants to support a 'Northern Powerhouse' for the UK. Such an ambitious project would require substantial private-sector investment and government support for growing businesses.

The British Business Bank, the UK's first economic development bank, has a central role in ensuring that financial markets for entrepreneurial and growing companies are effective, enabling them to access the finance they need to fund their expansion. Its programmes are supporting more than £1.8bn of finance to more than 43,000 smaller businesses, with a further £1.2bn of finance to mid-cap businesses.

This forum - organised by ICAEW in the North West and the Corporate Finance Faculty, and hosted by  KPMG - is an important opportunity for companies, investors and advisers to meet Ron Emerson, chairman of the British Business Bank, and to discuss what this means for business, investment and corporate finance. It is also a good opportunity to meet representatives of some of the North West's most important investment institutions.
